Blue
Blue is an original oil painting on birch bark of a blue jay. This art piece comes framed with a matte. I saw this lovely little blue jay on a birch tree outside my studio as I was painting. Blue became an instant inspiration for me. In the comments let me know if you want a white or black frame.
Frame dimensions 12 x 16”
This is one painting in a series inspired by the story of a birch tree. The birch bark inspired the series but, also became an important part of the art itself. As I began painting on these original birch bark pieces I began imagining the life and stories that this beautiful old tree could tell. Wild life began to emerge as I worked on this bark. I could imagine this blue jay and his friends visiting this beautiful big old tree.
The beauty of this rustic piece is it’s many natural imperfections from painting on an original piece of birch bark. Each piece is original of bark has rough edges, woodpecker holes and many other natural imperfections. This piece of birch bark comes from a tree that was taken down by a storm.
The painting has been varnished and should remain in the frame to reduce wear and tear on the birch trees delicate bark.
