FAQ

HOW IS MY ARTWORK GOING TO BE SHIPPED?

How are originals shipped?

Oil paintings take a substantial amount of time to dry. I will not ship a painting before it is ready to be tightly packaged (4-7 weeks from painting completion).

  • All artwork is wrapped in paper, padded extremely well, and sent in a well-fitting sturdy cardboard box.

  • Most artwork will ship via Canada Post or UPS and most packages arrive within 2-4 days (domestic) from time of shipping (includes tracking & insurance). Please note shipping can vary based on Covid and weather conditions. I live in Winnipeg and am often affected by inclement weather such as blizzards.

  • Larger canvases on stretchers over 40 inches are challenging and costly to send. They can cost $500 - $1000 to send. Currently larger paintings on stretchers can only be picked up from the studio.

Currently I am not taking International sales outside of North America through the webpage. Please email me directly and a shipment plan can be created. International buyers, please note that I am not responsible for extra fees and charges when the artwork goes through customs.

  • Please email me with questions or to get an estimate if you are interested in an item.

CAN I PICK UP MY ARTWORK FROM YOUR STUDIO or the ART SHED?

Absolutely! You are also welcome & encouraged to pick up your original artwork in person at my Victoria Beach location or Winnipeg studio location. The whereabouts is weather dependent. Use the code "StudioPickup" at checkout to forgo shipping fees altogether and we will work out a time to meet via email. Please note that my studio hours are rather limited as I am juggling my family life and a full time teaching job. But, I always make things work.

Please take the time to read descriptions carefully and the check colors on multiple screens if you are concerned about color variations. I try my best to represent the colors and tones in my work honestly and clearly on my webpage.

Do you do commissioned art work?

I am a full time teacher and mother so between that and managing my art business I do not have a lot of time. I do take a few select commissions a year. These commission slots fill up quickly. I will send out an email ahead of time when I am taking commissions and the information I will need to do a commissioned piece. Please join my email list so you do not miss out.

Prior to formalizing a commission I will discuss it with you and decide if it is something that fits my art style and art process. Commissioned artwork can take 4- 6 months to complete depending on size and complexity of the art piece. I will require a deposit on all commissioned pieces prior to starting the piece. The deposit prices will be 50 percent of the total of the finished artwork. This deposit is non refundable. I take the process very seriously. I will provide you with initial sketches of the plan and regular updates about the process. Please read who owns the rights to the painting below when considering a commissioned piece.

Who owns the rights to the paintings?

I retain all rights to all artwork I create. This includes the rights to the image of sold & commissioned original paintings.   I retain the right to make REPRODUCTIONS OF ANY AND ALL ARTWORK I CREATE UNLESS THE COLLECTOR HAS PURCHASED THE FULL OR PARTIAL RIGHTS TO THE ARTWORK (this is in addition to purchasing the original).

The Collector or buyer may not reproduce the artwork in any way without written permission.

If the artwork ends up being photographed in your home and reproduced in a style or decorating magazine or other media I only ask for credit (and congratulations! that means your home is super beautiful!).

When you purchase an original painting you, the collector, have the right to display the artwork in your home or business (hooray!) but the artwork may not be resold or reproduced without my written permission.

Please let me know if you are interested in purchasing full or partial rights to your painting.  Some collectors chose to purchase my right to reproduce the artwork to ensure it will never become a print.  I am totally happy to discuss that with you if you would like!
