There’s something special about being out in nature. While painting I try to capture the essence and the feeling of being in that moment. I love to play with the colours and the light of that moment.

Get to Know me

I did not start out as a wildlife artist per se however, I have always loved painting the world around me. While in art school my painting interest and focus was interiors and chairs. Even though my art subjects have changed my interest in my art subject whether it be a meadow lark or a chair and its relationship with the world and objects around them is what holds my interest.

Where will you find me? You will find me soaking up inspiration where the sand meets the water on the shores of Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba. I can be found along the shores searching for wildlife and soaking in the natural beauty with my camera or in my outdoor studio painting and creating.

My inspiration for art changed and evolved throughout the years. My interest in nature and saving Lake Winnipeg has been a great influence on my artwork. Now you can find me along the shores of Lake Winnipeg searching for inspiration with my camera. Currently fascinated by landscapes, wildlife and the beauty of nature and light. My goal with my painting is to capture that one simple moment in time and evoke the beauty of that moment.

Throughout my art career I have worked with a great variety of art media from paint to textiles to clay. Currently I primarily work with oil paint, watercolour as well as, pen and ink. I enjoy finding and repurposing a variety of things to paint on. I love painting on different surfaces and using the diverse textures that they provide to enhance the paintings. Recently I found birch bark from a tree fallen in a storm and have been using this as a surface for painting wildlife. Pushing myself as a painter to try different things keeps me inspired, my art fresh and interesting.
